Gypsy people are a nationality who has had a hard time integrating in the social-political map of Romania, because of their specific conditions of living until the 18th century (slavery). Their destiny is similar to black people from USA, which after their freedom came, they did not know what to do with liberty. They have as their main professions music, trade and peddling.

The criminality in the midst of ethnicity is relatively big, the causes being, like every other person born on Earth, SIN! Also the lack of education, poverty, the prejudices of the majority towards this minority, etc. The state considers them as second rank people, the mass-media incites against anything that happens bad in the news,“The gypsies did it,” including blame for the economic problems of the country. If the gypsies are named evils, it is because they are not born again. When they repent and receive the LORD Jesus, They become a valuable asset to the whole community. I have personally been told by the Mayors of their towns, that after they get saved and become Christians, They quit their drinking, stealing, beating their wives. They start sending their children to school, get jobs and rebuild the whole town. One Mayor told me to look around, as he held his arms out toward the houses of the town, as we walked together, saying “ Look how beautiful this little town is now!”

 

In nature these people are sentimental, receptive and willing to escape from their bad condition they have reached. This is why the international symbol of the Gypsy is the Wagon Wheel, it is always on the move. So as a conclusion, you can love the gypsy people without thinking that every one of them is a delinquent, thief, or a fortune teller. The sober truth is the members of ethnicity live in misery, without minimum conditions of subsistence, many families are limited by in comes from state allowance for children. The unemployment is more than 70% in ethnicity, the average family has 10 children, refusing vehemently abortion and are very strict about being virgins before marriage, While 1 out of 5 Romanian girls are raped or sexually abused before the age of 15. Romania has the highest abortion rate in Europe. In the USA the statistics are much higher! Another acute problem is the wealth, about 2% of the total members of the gypsies have enough to live on. The main food of a gypsy child is dry bread and water coming from dubious sources, pure water and sanitation being just dreams for gypsies from villages.

 

The money from the European Union is really a joke, it never reaches the people or the true needs. Some NGOs, are able to help a few, but they are limited. When the Church gets serious and obedient to go into all the World, everything changes. The Romanian Gypsies are like the Mary Magdalena’s in the body of Christ, when they finally find Christ, they become this most beautiful, respectable member in the Body. Vessels of honor in proclaiming Christ.

I believe that one day soon the Lord will spark a Holy Ghost fire with the Christian Gypsies and start a revival across all Eastern Europe!
